NOTICE- ORDINANCE NO. 397

CITY OF LINDEN

The Linden City Council adopted Ordinance No. 397 entitled An Ordinance To Amend Chapter 154 (Zoning) Of The City Of Linden Code Of Ordinances To Address The Use Of Cargo Containers As Accessory Buildings; Effective Date; Publication. Section 154.061 of Chapter 154 is hereby amended to add a new subsection A, 9 to read as follows:

(9)       The placement and use of any cargo container as an accessory building or structure is prohibited. For the purposes of this subsection, a cargo container shall be defined as a reusable vessel that was originally designed for or used in the packing, shipping, movement or transportation of freight, articles, good or commodities, which is capable of being mounted or moved by rail, truck or ship, including any other portable containers or pods used for storage with similar appearance and characteristics of cargo containers. This provision shall not apply to the temporary use of storage containers for construction activities on properties with an active building permit. A complete copy of the ordinance is available to the public for inspection and distribution during regular business hours at the City Clerk’s office located at 132 E. Broad St., Linden, MI 48451.
