Notice of City Council Training: February 20, 2025
The Linden City Council meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. for a Council Work Session and the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. for the Regular City Council meeting, with the exception of May, October November and December. Meetings are held at The Loose Senior Center located at 707 North Bridge Street, Linden, Michigan, 48451.
The Mayor and City Council, acting together, are the City’s governing body and elected representatives of the people. City Council is responsible for adopting all ordinances and resolutions, and determines the general goals and policies of the City and Councilors hold elected office.
City Council consists of six (6) members and a Mayor, elected by the qualified voters of the city at large. Each Councilor shall have a term of four years, terminating at 7:00 p.m., fourteen days after an election, and shall serve until the election and qualification of a successor. The term of office for Councilors shall be staggered so the three Councilors elected at large shall stand for election every even year. The Mayor shall serve a two year term, terminating at 7:00 p.m., fourteen days after an election, and shall serve until the election and qualification of a successor.
